Personal Branding 101: Why You Should Know Your Best Colors

When you're an entrepreneur it's important to set yourself apart from others in your industry. This allows you to stand out and draw your ideal clients to you. Knowing your best colors is a key component in building your personal brand. In this blog I'm going to give you 3 reasons why having a color analysis is the next step in building your personal brand.

  1. Knowing your best colors allows you to intentionally wear your best colors every day. As entrepreneurs you're likely face to face with clients at meetings or events. Or you're on a screen in front of your client - whether that's a zoom call, social media, or advertising. A color analysis will help you to discover your best neutrals and pop colors so you can build a wardrobe around shades that flatter you. Your pop colors are those that you want to wear when you really want to wow! Maybe you're speaking at an event, have a branding photo shoot, or a big client meeting. This is the perfect time to wear a color that "pops" and helps you to stand out! Plus, a color analysis appointment goes beyond basic neutrals & pop colors. I'll also give you recommendations for your best patterns, outfit combinations, handbags, footwear, jewelry, and more . Once you know your color code you can begin to curate a closet full of your most flattering tones and you'll always look your most amazing self from head to toe.

  2. Knowing your best shades will help you build your brand kit. Whether you're working with a graphic designer or building your own brand kit using a software program or app, you'll want to select the right shades. The best shades for your brand kit are colors that flatter you and complement your color code, not compete with it. Your brand colors will be used for print material, social media graphics, and other advertising such as your website. You will likely be having photographs of yourself set against these materials. If you're dressing in your best colors you'll want to make sure the graphics and backgrounds are complementary and coordinating colors to your photos. For instance if you look best wearing cool-toned shades of clothing and all of your social media graphics are created using warm-toned shades your picture and background will compete with each other, rather than having the background complement your photos. Once you know your color code you can create your brand kit using shades from your color swatches so your photos, graphics, and print materials will have a more cohesive look.

  3. Knowing your color code will help you to choose the best makeup shades that flatter you. Again, as an entrepreneur you're likely going to be on camera or in front of clients. And if you're an entrepreneur in the beauty industry (like a lot of my clients are) you'll definitely want to make sure your makeup looks amazing every time you wear it. When you wear your best makeup shades your clients will trust you that their makeup will look amazing on them as well. During your color analysis we'll go over your best makeup shades. And I'm happy to recommend specific colors for you as well.
